Review
Artifact is a real-time strategy game developed by Samu Games. Samu Games has a bit of a history with making online games, and this one is no exception. In fact, the main feature of this game is that it is entirely multi-player. The game at first looks a bit like the first Civilization: the low-resolution graphics bring that memory to mind. But what is really great about this game is that it is in real-time. Combat, building, exploring, everything is in real time, so sometimes things can get a bit frantic.
The main issue with this small strategy game is the response time online - that is why most of them are turn-based. But Artifact has an excellent multiplayer code that makes it look as if you were playing right next to each other. The game is based on Medieval times and lore. There are some artifacts scattered around the map that will aid you. The free game is somewhat limited. In order to have the game unlocked, you must pay 19.95 which may sound a bit steep. However, you can try it first and see if it is worth spending that amount of money. |
